About Knowledge Wand, LLC

The impetus for the creation of Knowledge Wand, LLC occurred in 2001 when company President Darrin Jahnel came up with an idea for a new type of educational software. As the son of two teachers, Darrin wanted to develop a product that provided value in the classroom without increasing the tremendous workload already faced by many educators. He quickly developed a framework for the product but soon realized that the real challenge would be making the product appeal to children. Darrin spent the next two years working with teachers and focus groups and in 2003 the company's first product, Uptown Education was ready to launch.

The product was warmly received and within a year of its initial launch, Uptown Education was being used by schools and after-school programs throughout the country. Knowledge Wand has built upon that initial success with a dedication to providing unparalleled customer service. Whether you are the superintendant of a school district, a teacher with a question about content or parent who forgot their child's password, Knowledge Wand is available 24/7 for your support.

In the summer of 2006 Knowledge Wand released their latest product, Sight Words with Samson. This program for early readers was so successful that it is now being used by schools and parents outside of the U.S., making Knowledge Wand an international company. In fact, the product has been so successful that the company plans to develop an entire suite of products built around the Samson character.
